Sarah Jessica Parker Open to More “Sex and the City,” But It Depends on One Person
Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t closing the door on reprising her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City,” but it seems like the decision ultimately lies with the show’s creator, Michael Patrick King.
At the Golden Eve gala in Beverly Hills, Parker revealed that while she’s open to the idea of returning to the beloved character, it all comes down to what excites Michael Patrick King. She emphasized that despite hearing various ideas for a potential revival, King’s enthusiasm is the key factor, and currently, he’s not focused on it.
Parker, accompanied by her husband Matthew Broderick and their son James Wilkie Broderick, attended the event where she was honored with the Carol Burnett Award. She also reunited with her “Sex and the City” co-stars Kristen Davis, Evan Handler, and David Eigenberg.
Aside from the possibility of a “Sex and the City” return, Parker shared updates on other projects, including the anticipated third installment of “Hocus Pocus” and efforts to make a sequel to “The Family Stone.”
Parker expressed excitement for these projects but acknowledged the bittersweet aspect of moving forward without the late Diane Keaton, who starred in “The Family Stone.” She remains hopeful that the sequel will come to fruition despite scheduling challenges.
The Golden Eve event also honored Helen Mirren with the Cecil B. DeMille Award. The evening was filmed for a primetime special airing on CBS and Paramount+ in the U.S.
For fans looking forward to these updates and more, mark your calendars for the upcoming airings of the Golden Globes and related specials.
