Brandon Blackstock‘s daughter, Savannah Blackstock, has shared poignant reflections on her father’s passing, occurring a month after his silent struggle with cancer came to a close.
On Thursday, September 24, Savannah, 23, turned to Instagram to convey a heartfelt message about the trials of grief and the solace found in the support of loved ones.
âThus far, 2025 has offered lessons in âTrust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding.â As we approach the end of Quarter 3, I find myself reflecting on the immense love and encouragement my husband and I have received during our lowest moments,â she stated. âWitnessing my father’s illness and ultimately losing him was an unimaginable experience, especially while navigating my own journey of being young and pregnant.â (Savannah and her husband, Quentin Lee, revealed their anticipation of a baby girl arriving in January 2026, adding to their family, which includes their three-year-old son, Lake, and daughter Julianna.)
She went on to express, âThe outpouring of love and support received over the last six months has been overwhelming, and for that, we are eternally grateful.â
A representative for Brandon confirmed to Us Weekly that the former talent manager passed away on August 7, at the age of 48. âIt is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Brandon Blackstock. He valiantly battled cancer for over three years and departed peacefully, surrounded by family,â the statement read. âWe extend our gratitude for your thoughts and prayers and ask for privacy for the family during this extremely challenging time.â
Brandon shared Savannah and son Seth, 18, with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth, and was also the father to daughter River, 11, and son Remy, 9, with ex-wife Kelly Clarkson.
In a previous Instagram tribute posted after his death, Savannah elaborated on her fatherâs significance, stating, âMy daddy never fell short of making my dreams come true. No matter how high or how far, he found a way.â She described him as her âbiggest cheerleader,â âbest friend,â and âvoice of reason.â Savannah emphasized how their relationship deepened through shared faith in the months leading to his passing, stating, âHe always loved the Lord, but six months ago, he truly sought the Lord. We shared in this journey together.â
She concluded her tribute with gratitude for the time spent with her father and the peace she found in knowing he was in Heaven. âI lost a piece of my heart and my favorite Cowboy, but Heaven gained an angel. Thankful for the time we shared; I canât wait for eternity. Enjoy your ranch up there; it’s designed with your heartâs desires in mind. â€ïž.â
Meanwhile, during the 2025 Emmys on September 14, Brandonâs former stepmother, Reba McEntire, provided insight into how his children are coping with their loss. âWe miss him every minute. The kids are bonding together, hanging out, and taking it day-by-day. We trust that Godâs got this,â she told Entertainment Tonight.
