Savannah Guthrie’s Return to the Today Show: A Heartfelt Reunion

In a touching moment filled with tears, Jenna Bush Hager confirmed that Savannah Guthrie has returned home. “We got to see her this morning. In her perfect way, she talked to all of us, hugged every single person in the room, the crew,” Jenna detailed. Savannah expressed her intention to return to the show, despite the challenges she may face. Jenna shared, “Even though it feels like the hardest thing to do, it’s her home and where she feels so loved. She is beyond loved here. We’re happy that she is home.”

While Jenna mentioned that she doesn’t know the exact timing of Savannah’s return to the air, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to see her today. “It felt so good to hug her,” Jenna said. Sheinelle Jones, Jenna’s co-host, also reflected on the emotional visit this morning. “When Savannah’s here… we’ve all been waiting for her,” Jones stated. “We’ve been wearing our pins. We’ve been touching her and hugging and everybody wants to lay eyes on her.”

Jones also shared her personal connection to Guthrie’s situation, having lost her husband in May 2025. She explained that she handles moments like this differently now, understanding the strength it takes to face challenges. “I see it as we’re in this storm, and we’re not out of the storm, but there’s a light somewhere, even in the midst of this storm,” Jones expressed. She celebrated Savannah’s presence and offered words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of taking each step forward.

After seeing Savannah, Jones offered her support and love, expressing hope for the future. “You are here, and we love you. Everyone loves you, and whenever you’re ready, we are here,” Jones conveyed. The support from the team and viewers has been a source of comfort for Savannah during this difficult time.

Hager added that Savannah was moved by the outpouring of prayers and support from everyone, including those wearing yellow flowers and pins in solidarity. “She feels them,” Jenna emphasized. Despite the challenges she faces, Savannah’s faith remains strong, as she relies on God as her first resort in times of need.

The whereabouts of Savannah’s mother, Nancy, who has been missing since February 1, remain unknown. The support and love from Savannah’s colleagues and viewers continue to be a source of strength during this challenging time. The Today Show team stands united in their support for Savannah and her family as they navigate this difficult situation.
