Savannah Guthrie and her family are facing a nightmare as the search for their missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues. The 84-year-old was last seen at her Tucson residence on Saturday night, and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation.
However, criticism has been directed at law enforcement for releasing Nancy’s home as a crime scene to the family shortly after her disappearance, only to return days later to tape it off again. Tracy Schandler Walder, a former C.I.A. officer and FBI special agent, expressed disappointment in the handling of the situation, stating that releasing the crime scene too soon could compromise crucial evidence.
In a heart-wrenching video posted on Instagram, Savannah Guthrie, along with her siblings Annie and Camron, made an emotional plea for their mother’s safe return. They described Nancy as a loving, kind-hearted woman who is dearly missed, emphasizing her fragility and health concerns.
The family appealed directly to Nancy’s kidnappers, urging them to provide proof of her well-being and communicate with them. They expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and prayers from the community, emphasizing their desperate need for reassurance about Nancy’s safety.
As the search for Nancy Guthrie enters its fifth day, the Guthrie family remains hopeful and determined to bring their beloved mother home. They are actively cooperating with law enforcement and are prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure Nancy’s safe return.
