Savannah Guthrie shared in an emotional video on Instagram that her family is still holding out hope for her missing mother, Nancy, despite the possibility that she may already be gone. She announced a private reward of up to $1 million for any information leading to her recovery.
Nancy Guthrie was believed to have been abducted from her Tucson-area home more than three weeks ago. The FBI released video and photos of a masked, armed man outside her home on the morning of Feb. 1, but no arrests have been made in the case.
Savannah Guthrie expressed the pain and agony her family has been going through since her mother’s disappearance, and emphasized the need for her to come home. The FBI also shared news of the Guthries’ reward on social media, while reminding the public of their own $100,000 reward.
The Guthrie family has also donated $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in hopes of bringing Nancy home. Despite the challenges they face, Savannah Guthrie remains hopeful that someone out there knows something that can help them find her mother.
The announcement of the increased reward comes after reports that the suspect in Nancy Guthrie’s abduction had been to her home before her disappearance. However, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has refuted these claims, stating that it is purely speculative to suggest that the suspect visited the home at an earlier date based on the images captured.
The search for Nancy Guthrie continues as her family remains determined to find her and bring her home.
