Savannah Guthrie, host of “Today,” shared a touching Mother’s Day message on Instagram on Sunday, honoring her mother, Nancy, who has been missing since February. View her tribute here.
Accompanying her post, Guthrie wrote, “Mother, daughter, sister, Nonie – we miss you with every breath. We will never stop looking for you. We will never be at peace until we find you. We need help. Someone knows something that can make the difference. Call 1800CALLFBI. You can be anonymous and the reward remains available. Please keep praying. Bring her home.”
Nancy, 84, was last seen at her home in Arizona on January 31. On February 2, the Pima County Sheriff expressed that Nancy likely did not leave her residence voluntarily. Although a person was temporarily held in connection to her disappearance, and doorbell footage showed a potential suspect attempting to enter her home, progress in finding Nancy has been minimal.
In early April, Guthrie participated in Good Shepherd New York’s digital Easter event, delivering a message of hope while reflecting on her mother’s unresolved kidnapping.
“Perhaps this is too dark a message to share on Easter morning, but I have long believed that we miss out on fully celebrating resurrection if we do not acknowledge the feelings of loss, pain, and yes, death,” she remarked. “It is the darkness that makes this morning’s light so magnificent, so blindingly beautiful. It is all the brighter because it is so desperately needed.”
Guthrie returned to the “Today” show on April 6 after a two-month absence.
