The South Island Agricultural Field Days (SIAFD), in collaboration with Lincoln University, is awarding scholarships worth $10,500 to six outstanding students who show great potential in the primary industries sector.
Daniel Schat, an executive member of SIAFD, mentioned that this year, the scholarship opportunities have expanded. There is one scholarship available for any New Zealand Young Farmers affiliate and another for a non-Young Farmers student enrolled in full-time studies at Lincoln.
These scholarships are more than just financial aid, according to Mr. Schat.
“It’s about supporting the passion and dedication of individuals who will shape the future of the agricultural industry.”
Previous scholarship recipients including Cameron Brans, Jessica Quinlan, Jorja Weld, Claire Donelley, Georgia Higinbottom, and Cameron Beck were praised for their academic excellence and community involvement. These students are not just achievers on paper; they are also equipped to tackle the challenges that lie ahead in modern agriculture.
“Investing in education today ensures that we have innovative problem-solvers ready for whatever the future holds.”
