Schumer Squirming: The Question Every Democrat Dreads
In a moment that can only be described as politically charged, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) found himself undeniably uncomfortable during a recent interview with CNN’s Kasie Hunt. She posed the unflinching question that seems to haunt every Democrat in Washington: Did you genuinely believe Joe Biden was capable of serving a second term?
has been unrelenting in its coverage of what many Americans have been observing firsthand: the worrying signs of Joe Biden’s cognitive decline. This isn’t just political rhetoric; it’s a glaring reality marked by verbal missteps and visible frailty.
Despite the evidence, a coalition of the White House and mainstream media has engaged in what can only be described as a cover-up, keeping the public in the dark until a disastrous debate performance in June 2024 prompted a reckoning.
This reckoning resurfaced when Hunt confronted Schumer about the revelations in the newly published book Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, authored by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson.
The book corroborates years of reporting from TGP, detailing how dire Biden’s condition had become, with aides reportedly considering the need for a wheelchair.
Hunt pressed Schumer about a meeting that took place in February 2024 in the Oval Office, which included Biden along with other Democratic leaders like Schumer, Pelosi, Hakeem Jeffries, and even Barack Obama, just a few months prior to Biden’s unfortunate debate performance.
Kasie Hunt: “Did you really not have any idea that he was not fit to serve a second term?”
Schumer’s response? A masterclass in deflection.
Chuck Schumer: “Kasie, we’re looking forward. We have the largest Medicaid cut in front of us…”
Hunt, undeterred, pressed further:
Kasie Hunt: “You’re facing all of this because you lost a presidential election. Is that not Joe Biden’s responsibility for deciding to run again?”
Schumer, repeating his earlier refrain like a broken record, replied: “We’re looking forward.”
And there you have it—no accountability, no transparency, and certainly no admission of complicity in endorsing a candidate whose fitness for office is increasingly in question.
The American public deserves answers, yet Democratic leaders continue to evade, sidestep, and mislead.

Even Chuck Todd weighed in, directly calling out Schumer for his apparent ignorance regarding Biden’s suitability for office.
Todd: “He is among the people that are responsible for this, the leaders of the Democratic Party, the staff of the White House. I have to say, I find everybody now I’m talking to these authors, get out of here. Go home. You’re part of the problem. Now you tell us.”
“The Democratic Party has a worse rating than the Republican Party with this catastrophic governance that we’ve seen over the last 120 days, and why is that? Because of this distrust. The public feels let down by their leadership, and Schumer could have voiced concerns much sooner.”
