A violent incident occurred on Friday night in the 500 block of West Scott in Old Town, resulting in a man being seriously injured. According to Chicago police, the victim, a 40-year-old man, was sitting inside a parked vehicle when an assailant on a scooter approached and brandished a gun. In a desperate attempt to defend himself, the victim also pulled out a firearm. Unfortunately, the situation escalated, leading to the victim being shot in the groin and thigh. The perpetrator managed to flee the scene on the scooter before the authorities arrived.
Upon investigating the incident, officers discovered that the victim’s car was pierced with bullet holes and a firearm was found inside the vehicle. It was revealed through state records that the victim did not have the legal authorization to possess or carry a firearm, raising potential charges against him for illegal possession.
