Former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline has become a well-circulated whisper in the corridors of American politics—arguably the worst-kept secret of our time.
This mounting concern reached a fever pitch after Biden’s perplexing appearance on ABC’s “The View” last Thursday. With the impending release of Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s book, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, set for May 20, CNN commentator Scott Jennings predicts that the revelations will detonate like a political bombshell.
Jennings likened the anticipated disclosures to “the equivalent of a nuclear bomb dropped on the Democratic Party,” a remark made during his segment on CNN’s “NewsNight with Abby Phillip.”
“Observing him over the past few days,” Jennings noted regarding Biden, “it’s remarkable that some people believed he could serve another four years in office.”
Indeed, Biden’s recent interview on “The View” featured such a bewildering response to a question about his cognitive abilities that former First Lady Jill Biden had to step in to clarify for him. His comments on former Vice President Kamala Harris’ potential defeat in the 2024 election were equally nonsensical, veering into the territory of absurdity, likely fueled by a mix of his fading intellect and an overzealous adherence to progressive ideals.
In a separate interview with BBC’s Nick Robinson, Biden’s mumbling further fueled the speculation about his mental acuity.
“These recent appearances,” Jennings elaborated, “paired with what I anticipate will be shocking revelations from the upcoming book, suggest that Democrats are not fully prepared for the fallout.”

Speculation abounds regarding the nature of these potential revelations, which may expose the extent of the Democratic establishment’s efforts to downplay Biden’s condition.
