Scott Peterson, the notorious wife-killer, was reportedly involved in an altercation with another inmate during a game of pickleball at Mule Creek State Prison in California. According to TMZ, the inmate took issue with Peterson’s playing style and ended up physically assaulting him.

Reportedly, the altercation was sparked when Peterson smashed the ball directly at the other inmate during the match, leading to a physical confrontation. Despite sustaining injuries, Peterson did not require hospitalization, as per prison sources.

In 2004, Peterson was convicted of the murder of his 8-month-pregnant wife, Laci, who went missing on Christmas Eve in 2002. Her body was later found in the San Francisco Bay, not far from where Peterson claimed to have gone fishing. He was arrested shortly after her body was discovered.

Convicted of first-degree murder for Laci’s death and second-degree murder for their unborn son, Conner, Peterson has maintained his innocence. In a 2024 Peacock docuseries, he reiterated his innocence and expressed a desire to prove the truth to the public.

Recently, Peterson’s case gained attention from the Los Angeles Innocence Project, which advocated for him to undergo a discovery process to potentially demonstrate his innocence.

Currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole, Peterson’s case has drawn comparisons to the bestselling book and critically acclaimed film “Gone Girl.”

Requests for comment from Mule Creek State Prison regarding the reported incident involving Peterson went unanswered.
