Moments Before Leaving the Courtroom
As the courtroom cleared on Tuesday morning, Sean Combs took a moment to speak with his mother, Janice, who was seated in the gallery. Leaning over, he whispered words of reassurance and comfort to her as he was being led back to a cell.
“Just relax, it’s gonna be alright,” Combs said softly, also complimenting her outfit and trying to ease her worries.
Throughout the trial, Combs has remained mostly silent. Last week, his defense team rested their case in a surprisingly short amount of time, choosing not to call any witnesses to testify on his behalf.
When given the opportunity to testify in his own defense, Combs declined. He briefly confirmed his decision when asked by Judge Subramanian, expressing that he was doing well and commending the judge on his work.
Despite the option to take the stand, Combs firmly stated, “That is my decision, your honor,” indicating his resolve to maintain his silence in the courtroom.
