Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic story is finally reaching its conclusion. Showrunner, writer, and director Michael Patrick King made a surprising announcement on social media, revealing that the current third season of “And Just Like That” will mark the end of the “Sex and the City” universe.
In a heartfelt statement, King expressed his realization while writing the last episode of the season that it was the perfect moment to bring the beloved series to a close. Collaborating with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys, and Sarah Aubrey, the decision was made to conclude the show with a two-part finale. The original series order of 10 episodes was extended to 12 to allow for a proper send-off.
“We didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the enjoyment of watching the season,” King shared. “It’s been a wonderful journey, and we are incredibly grateful to all the viewers who have welcomed these characters into their homes and hearts over the years.”
As fans prepare to bid farewell to Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha, the upcoming finale is sure to be an emotional and satisfying conclusion to the iconic series. Stay tuned for the last chapter of the “Sex and the City” universe as we say goodbye to these unforgettable characters.
