A Secret Service Agent Placed on Leave for Leaking Sensitive Information
An employee of the US Secret Service assigned to Vice President JD Vance’s protective detail has been placed on administrative leave after an undercover video allegedly showed the agent leaking sensitive security information, as confirmed by the agency to Fox News.
The USSS is conducting an investigation and has suspended the employee’s security clearance, revoked access to agency facilities and systems, and issued a retraining order for all personnel to ensure awareness of threats to operational security.
Deputy Director of USSS, Matthew Quinn, stated, “The US Secret Service has no tolerance for any behavior that could compromise the safety, privacy, or trust of our protectees. The employee involved has been placed on administrative leave, with clearance suspended and access revoked.”
The Secret Service deeply apologized to the Vance family and emphasized the agency’s commitment to maintaining its tradition of discretion and protecting the trust placed in them by their protectees.
Undercover footage allegedly shows the USSS agent sharing sensitive information with a romantic interest, including protective formations, shift schedules, travel movements, and advance security procedures.
The agent also allegedly shared information in advance and acknowledged signing paperwork prohibiting disclosure of privileged information.
James O’Keefe claims the agent is a “holdover from the Biden administration” with anti-ICE and anti-Trump administration views.
O’Keefe stated that his organization coordinated with the USSS and redacted operational details at the agency’s request.
The USSS, responsible for protecting designated officials, operates under strict confidentiality rules and did not provide a timeline for completing the investigation or mention potential criminal charges.
The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
