Ethel Kennedy, the wife of politician Robert F. Kennedy, was a woman with many secrets that she took to the grave. Despite knowing about her husband’s affair with Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe, Ethel remained by his side for the sake of their 11 children.
According to Kennedy’s friend, Jeanne Carmen, Ethel was well aware of the impact Monroe had on both President John F. Kennedy and her husband, Robert Kennedy. While John saw Monroe as just another fling, Robert had genuine feelings for the actress. Monroe, on the other hand, was obsessed with becoming First Lady and believed she had a shot with both Kennedy brothers.
