On Thursday, following an all-nighter spent convincing Republican lawmakers to support his ambitious Big Beautiful Bill — which culminated in the House passing what is now touted as the largest tax cut in American history — President Trump landed in Iowa to rally his fervent supporters.
Speaking at the Iowa State Fairgrounds just outside Des Moines, Trump was accompanied by a notable entourage, including the venerable Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
Before Trump’s speech, the 91-year-old Grassley took to the podium to discuss his ongoing inquiries into those he claims have relentlessly sought to impeach and imprison the former president over the last eight years.
Grassley is adamant about unraveling what he refers to as the Trump-Russia “Democrat scandal,” along with the various legal challenges that have beset the nation’s most polarizing president.
Senator Chuck Grassley: “As the chairman of this committee, I am committed to ensuring that whistleblowers are heard and that Congress receives documents that have previously been withheld. My goal is to expose the truth behind the eight years of efforts to imprison President Trump.”
He continued, emphasizing that whether under Republican or Democratic leadership, this administration has provided an unprecedented level of cooperation from the Department of Justice and the FBI — a stark contrast to the past, which he describes as a period of “obfuscation and cover-up.”
Grassley’s determination is clear: “We are working to reinstate whistleblowers to their positions and to release documents, because I want everyone involved since President Trump descended that golden escalator in 2015 to be held accountable for their attempts to remove him from office or imprison him.”
He firmly asserted that such political machinations have no place in America, thanking Trump for his administration’s role in fostering greater transparency and vowing that similar tactics should never again plague the political landscape.
Senator Chuck Grassley: “I’m going to make sure that everybody is exposed and the documents prove it for the eight years that the opposition was trying to put President Trump in prison.”
