Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona announced on Friday his decision to sell his Tesla car due to what he described as billionaire Elon Musk’s unethical treatment of civil servants.
In a video shared on social media, Kelly expressed his disappointment with Musk and President Trump, highlighting their harmful policies affecting the country. He cited cuts to social security, healthcare benefits, and the firing of veterans as key concerns.
Kelly, a Navy veteran and former astronaut, criticized Musk’s role in reducing the federal workforce through executive orders. He emphasized the negative impact of Musk and Trump’s decisions on the nation.
The senator declared that he would no longer drive his Tesla vehicle, noting the decline in Tesla’s stock value due to Musk’s actions with DOGE and tariffs imposed by Trump.
Recently, Trump showcased Teslas outside the White House to promote the electric car, defending Musk against market criticism.
Kelly expressed his eagerness for a new vehicle, stating, “Elon Musk has shown his true colors, and I prefer not to support a product associated with his behavior. I am excited for my upcoming ride.”
