Senator Ted Cruz discusses Iran’s nuclear threat with Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures” 6/15/25

In a recent appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Senator Ted Cruz expressed his unequivocal support for President Trump’s stance on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Cruz articulated the gravity of the situation, suggesting that the implications of a nuclear-armed Iran extend far beyond the Middle East.

“Thank you for joining us, Senator. What’s your take on the current situation from the U.S. perspective?” Bartiromo inquired.

“This week has been incredibly significant and, frankly, perilous. It was also somewhat predictable. The Ayatollah is essentially a theocratic radical, frequently chanting ‘death to America, death to Israel,’” Cruz responded, firmly establishing his viewpoint.

“President Trump drew a very distinct line in the sand on April 12th, giving Iran 60 days to negotiate,” Cruz explained, emphasizing the urgency of the deadline.

“Trump has made it clear that any agreement must involve the total dismantling of Iran’s nuclear capabilities—no centrifuges, no enrichment,” he added, highlighting the strict conditions set forth by the former president.

Cruz noted that the Ayatollah’s response was one of outright defiance. “On the 61st day, he publicly declared he would not deactivate a single centrifuge, instead promising to expand their centrifuge operations and amass more enriched uranium for nuclear weapons,” he continued.

Furthermore, Cruz underscored the importance of Israel’s recent military actions aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “The objective is not to invade Iran or impose democracy; it is to eliminate their capacity for mass murder. This week, they made significant strides in that direction,” Cruz stated, referring to Israel’s strategic strikes.

He also characterized Iran as a direct threat to U.S. interests, pointing out that the Ayatollah has been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American service members.

“The Ayatollah has killed over 600 of our military personnel and is the main financier of global terrorism. His goal is to acquire weapons capable of killing not just hundreds, but millions of Americans,” Cruz warned, painting a dire picture of the stakes involved.

“Israel is doing a tremendous service to America by neutralizing Iran’s ability to threaten us,” Cruz concluded emphatically.
