Aqeel Ahmad, a 53-year-old man, has been arrested for the third time in three months for taking inappropriate photos of unsuspecting females. The latest incident occurred at a Shoprite in Selden, where Ahmad attempted to take photos up a woman’s dress while she was shopping. This discovery came after a thorough investigation revealed that Ahmad had been using the shopping center as his hunting ground for at least a month prior to his initial arrest at a Target in the same plaza.
In October, Ahmad was apprehended after allegedly taking lewd photos of a 13-year-old girl inside a Long Island Target. The girl’s father caught him in the act and chased him out of the store. In November, he was arrested again for a similar offense involving a 17-year-old girl at the same Shoprite.
Ahmad now faces a third count of unlawful surveillance and is expected to be arraigned in Central Islip. The police investigation is ongoing, as authorities are trying to determine if there are more victims who were recorded or photographed by Ahmad. They are urging anyone with information about Ahmad’s activities to come forward.
The repeated arrests of Ahmad highlight the importance of vigilance and reporting suspicious behavior to the authorities. It also serves as a reminder of the need for increased awareness and protection of individuals, especially in public places where such incidents can occur.
