Police in Auckland are currently investigating a distressing incident where a two-month-old baby was taken to Middlemore Hospital with serious injuries.
The infant is currently receiving treatment at Middlemore Hospital in ĆtÄhuhu.
Acting Detective Inspector Veronica McPherson of Counties Manukau CIB confirmed that the police are actively looking into the circumstances surrounding the baby’s injuries.
“Police are continuing to make inquiries into the circumstances of how the baby came to be injured,” she stated.
This incident follows another recent case involving a child in Auckland, where a toddler was discovered in a suitcase in the luggage compartment of a bus traveling from Whangarei to Auckland.
A 27-year-old woman has been charged with ill-treating a child in relation to the aforementioned incident.
