Sharge’s Icemag 3 Power Bank: A Cool Solution for Fast Wireless Charging

I can’t remember the last time I had to plug in my phone to charge it. Thanks to MagSafe technology, I’ve become accustomed to simply placing my smartphone on one of the many wireless charging stands scattered throughout my home. However, this convenience doesn’t translate well to situations where I need a quick charge on the go.

While there are plenty of MagSafe-equipped power banks available, they have struggled to replicate the smooth and reliable charging experience due to one key issue: heat. Wireless charging generates more heat than traditional wired charging, and this becomes a particular challenge when the charger is attached to the back of your phone. The excessive heat often causes my phone to slow down its charging speed or even lose charge more quickly.

Enter Sharge’s Icemag 3 power bank, which offers a simple solution to this problem by incorporating a built-in cooling fan. The Icemag 3 stands out from its competitors with its unique design featuring a glass back panel. A transparent window along the bottom provides a view of the internal circuitry and the cooling fan in action, while a small vent at the bottom expels hot air. The power bank also features a vertical kickstand that can be adjusted to achieve your desired viewing angle.

When the power bank is turned on, the cooling fan not only emits a noticeable whir but also puts on a full-spectrum RGB light show. This eye-catching feature garnered attention in public, with many people expressing curiosity and some apprehension. The edgy design of the Icemag 3, though sleek and distinctive, raised eyebrows, especially at airport security where I was questioned about it twice. However, the good news is that the RGB lights can be turned off by long-pressing the power button.

The Icemag 3’s standout feature is its Qi2 charging pad, which supports fast 25W charging speeds for compatible phones like the iPhone 17 and Google Pixel 10 series, without overheating. The built-in cooling fan effectively maintains these charging speeds even during prolonged use. Additionally, the power bank includes a USB-C port for even faster 35W charging, along with a built-in USB-C cable that can be converted into a loop. All charging outputs can be used simultaneously, allowing you to charge up to three devices at once.

With a total capacity of 10,000mAh, the Icemag 3 can fully charge many flagship phones twice on a single charge. While the fan noise may be distracting in quiet environments, it quickly becomes background white noise. Despite a few minor downsides such as a flimsy metal kickstand and lack of pass-through charging compatibility, the Sharge Icemag 3 is still a highly recommended fast and reliable Qi2 power bank.

Priced at £59.44/$79.90, the Icemag 3 offers great value for money considering its features and performance. Sharge continues to impress with innovative products like the Icemag 3, proving that phone accessories can be both functional and stylish.
