Comedian Sherri Shepherd’s talk show “Sherri” is coming to an end after four seasons, as reported by Variety. The news of the show’s cancellation comes at the same time as another daytime talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” announced that it would be ending after seven seasons at the end of 2026.
Debmar-Mercury, the producer/distributor behind “Sherri,” confirmed the news on Monday. The show had been cleared through the 2025-2026 TV season on various station groups such as the Fox TV Stations, Nexstar, Hearst, Sinclair, Gray, Tegna, and Sunbeam.
In a joint statement, Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus explained that the decision to end the show was driven by the changing landscape of daytime television and not a reflection of the show’s quality or the talent of Sherri Shepherd. They expressed their belief in the show and Shepherd, stating their intention to explore alternative platforms for the show.
Last season, Frank Cicha, the exec vice president of programming at Fox TV Stations, praised “Sherri” as a linchpin of their daytime lineup. The show is filmed at New York’s Chelsea Studios and is both produced and distributed by Debmar-Mercury.
Sherri Shepherd, a former cohost of “The View,” actress, comedian, and Emmy winner, launched her talk show in fall 2022. The show originally took over the time slots on Fox stations previously occupied by “The Wendy Williams Show,” which Debmar-Mercury produced and distributed for 13 seasons.
In a statement last year when the show was renewed for Season 4, Shepherd expressed her gratitude for the audience’s support and mentioned her dedication to bringing joy, laughter, and inspiration to viewers. She looked forward to returning for Season 4 and raising the bar for the show.
As “Sherri” comes to an end, fans of the show can expect to see Shepherd exploring other opportunities and platforms in the future. Despite the show’s cancellation, Shepherd’s talent and charisma are sure to shine in whatever project she takes on next.
