Michigan is making significant strides in recruiting for their 2026 class, with four-star linebacker Anthony Davis being a top priority for Sherrone Moore’s squad. Davis recently named Michigan in his top four schools, alongside Alabama, Ole Miss, and Auburn. The Wolverines have been actively pursuing Davis since offering him back in March 2024, and he is set to make his decision on August 2.

Despite previously being in his top five, Florida did not make the latest cut for Davis. The linebacker had an official visit to Ann Arbor in June and spoke highly of the program. According to On3, Auburn currently leads the race with a 34% chance of landing Davis, while Michigan sits at 8.6%. However, Davis expressed admiration for the Wolverines’ approach to recruiting, emphasizing their focus on building genuine relationships and developing players both on and off the field.

As a junior in the 2024 season, Davis showcased his talent with impressive stats, including 105 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, one interception returned for a touchdown, three sacks, 12 quarterback hurries, and five pass breakups in 13 games. He is ranked as the No. 17 linebacker in the 2026 class by the On3 Industry Rankings.

In addition to Davis, Michigan is also targeting five-star cornerback Duvay Williams for their 2027 class. Williams, the top recruit in California and the No. 3 cornerback in the 2026 class, received an offer from the Wolverines in February. During his visit to Ann Arbor in June, Williams connected with defensive backs coach Lamar Morgan and expressed his interest in the program.

Despite USC being seen as the leader in Williams’ recruitment, Michigan has the potential to sway him with their coaching staff’s attention and the opportunities they offer. College football analyst Tom Lemming praised Williams for his exceptional skills and potential impact on the field.

Overall, Michigan is making significant strides in recruiting top talent for their future classes, with both Davis and Williams being key targets for the program. The Wolverines’ focus on building relationships, developing players, and providing opportunities for success is resonating with prospects, making them a strong contender in the competitive recruiting landscape.
