India all-rounder Shivam Dube put on a spectacular show in the T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal against England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, March 5. Dube showcased his power-hitting skills by smashing two massive sixes off England’s Adil Rashid in the 12th over of India’s innings.
The left-hander first sent a 90-meter six sailing into the stands with a clean strike off Rashid’s fuller-length delivery. Not content with just one big hit, Dube followed it up with another towering six off the penultimate ball of the over, showcasing his ability to dominate spin bowling.
Known for his prowess against spinners, Dube was promoted to No. 4 in the crucial match. The 32-year-old had already amassed 166 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 156.60 in the T20 World Cup 2026, making him a key player for the Men in Blue.
Dube’s heroics came on the back of impressive performances from his teammates Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan, who had earlier thrashed the England bowlers. Samson played a blistering innings of 89 runs off just 42 balls, while Kishan contributed a quickfire 39 off 18 deliveries. Despite a quick dismissal of Abhishek Sharma, the Indian team looked strong at 167/3 after 14 overs, with Dube and skipper Suryakumar Yadav at the crease.
The match between India and England marked the third consecutive T20 World Cup semifinal clash between the two teams, with each side having won one apiece in the previous editions. Meanwhile, New Zealand had already secured their spot in the final by defeating South Africa in the first semifinal.
As the action unfolded at Wankhede Stadium, cricket fans were treated to a thrilling display of power-hitting and skill from the Indian team. With Dube’s explosive batting and the team’s strong performance, the stage was set for an exciting finish to the T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal.
