Jeff Daniels Joins Cast of Apple TV+ Series “Shrinking”
Jeff Daniels has officially signed on to join the cast of the hit Apple TV+ series “Shrinking,” as reported by Variety. The acclaimed actor will be making a guest star appearance in the show’s upcoming third season, playing the role of Jimmy’s (Jason Segel) father. Daniels joins a star-studded cast that includes Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, Christa Miller, and Ted McGinley.
This marks Daniels’ latest foray into television, following his recent roles in series like “American Rust,” “The Comey Rule,” “A Man in Full,” “The Newsroom,” “Godless,” and “The Looming Tower.” The Emmy-winning actor is known for his work in film as well, with credits in movies such as “The Squid and the Whale,” “The Purple Rose of Cairo,” “Pleasantville,” and the “Dumb & Dumber” franchise.
Daniels is represented by LBI and Martino Management.
“Shrinking” recently concluded its second season in December, with both Segel and Williams receiving Emmy nominations for their performances in the show’s first season. The series was co-created by Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein, and is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions.
The third season of “Shrinking” will see Ashley Nicole Black and Bill Posley joining as executive producers alongside the existing team. Deadline was the first to report on Daniels’ casting in the series.
