Police in New York City are currently on the hunt for a disturbing individual who is accused of sexually abusing a man’s corpse on a Manhattan subway train. The incident took place late at night on an R train, and authorities are working diligently to locate the suspect.
The suspect, who remains unidentified at this time, allegedly assaulted the deceased man on the train around 11:45 p.m. on a Tuesday night. After the assault, he exited the Whitehall Street subway station in lower Manhattan just after midnight, according to sources familiar with the case.
The identity of the deceased man is also unknown, but it is believed that he passed away from natural causes. Investigators do not believe that the victim and the suspect had any prior connection to each other.
A wanted poster describes the suspect as being 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 195 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was on Manor Avenue in the Soundview section of the Bronx.
Security footage from the subway station captured the suspect engaging in sexual acts with the deceased victim around 11:45 p.m. The suspect then disembarked from the train at 12:08 a.m.
The deceased man had boarded the subway train around 8 p.m., while the suspect entered the train about three hours later, although the exact point of entry is unclear.
The NYPD is urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation. The gruesome nature of the crime has shocked residents and commuters in the city, and authorities are determined to bring the perpetrator to justice.
