Amazon Prime Video has officially announced the full cast for its upcoming “Tomb Raider” series, adding some big names to the video game adaptation. Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie, Bill Paterson, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, and August Wittgenstein have all joined the project. Sophie Turner was previously announced as the lead, playing the iconic character Lara Croft.
Among the new additions, three actors will be taking on roles from the existing “Tomb Raider” franchise. Jason Isaacs will portray Lara’s uncle Atlas DeMornay, Bill Paterson will play Winston the butler, and Martin Bobb-Semple will bring tech support character Zip to life.
Sigourney Weaver will play Evelyn Wallis, a mysterious and ambitious woman looking to capitalize on Lara’s unique abilities. Jack Bannon joins as Gerry, Lara’s personal pilot and snack collector. John Heffernan will portray David, a government official caught up in Lara’s world. Celia Imrie takes on the role of Francine, the head of advancement at the British Museum. Paterson Joseph plays Thomas Warner, a senior government official dealing with a mess. Sasha Luss plays Sasha, a fierce rival of Lara’s. Juliette Motamed portrays Georgia, a dedicated curator at the British Museum. And August Wittgenstein plays Lukas, an illegal raider with a shared history with Lara.
The series is created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and co-showrunner Chad Hodge. Executive producers include Waller-Bridge, Jenny Robins, Jonathan Van Tulleken, Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, Timothy I. Stevenson, and Michael Scheel. Matt McInnis serves as co-executive producer and Jan R. Martin as producer. The show is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, Crystal Dynamics, and Legendary Television.
With such a talented cast and creative team behind the scenes, fans can expect an exciting and action-packed “Tomb Raider” series coming soon to Amazon Prime Video.
