9/23 8:10 AM PT — Nexstar Media Group has joined Sinclair in indefinitely
preempting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” as noted on their website.
Jimmy Kimmel is set to return
after a brief hiatus, but viewers across America may find their TV screens void of his show
when “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” resumes its run this Tuesday … at least in some locations, due to
      a significant broadcaster’s decision.
Sinclair, which owns numerous ABC affiliates nationwide, has announced, “Starting Tuesday evening,
Sinclair will not air Jimmy Kimmel Live! on our ABC affiliate channels and will instead replace it
      with news programming.”

However, there might still be a glimmer of hope—Kimmel’s return to ABC broadcast under
Sinclair might be on the horizon … the company states, “Discussions with ABC are ongoing as
we evaluate the show’s potential return.”
Kimmel’s suspension last week followed the decision by Sinclair and Nexstar, another company
owning several ABC affiliate stations, to preempt ‘Live!’ due to backlash regarding Kimmel’s
      commentary on Charlie Kirk‘s alleged
murder and mounting pressure from the FCC led by President Trump.

Subsequently, the Walt Disney Company, which owns ABC, removed Kimmel from all ABC channels
as a result of Sinclair and Nexstar’s earlier actions.
Earlier today, Disney confirmed that Kimmel’s show would return on Tuesday,
but alas, it appears that not every American will be able to tune in.
