The Asia-Pacific region is experiencing rapid growth in air travel, driven by countries like China and India. Passenger traffic growth of 7.3% is projected for 2026, but plane makers and engine manufacturers are struggling to keep up with the demand for fleet expansions.

The smaller C909 regional model also received attention at the show, with China’s Shanxi Victory General Aviation signing a letter of intent for six firefighting aircraft.
The Singapore Airshow serves as a key meeting point for regional airline executives, plane makers, and engine manufacturers as they aim to address the growing demand for air travel in the Asia-Pacific region. India, China, and Southeast Asia are forecasted to account for eight of the world’s 10 fastest-growing air travel markets between 2024 and 2044.
The show has attracted attention from the Middle East, with Qatar and Saudi Arabia sending civil aviation delegations to Singapore. Defense offerings are also a significant part of the show, with Israeli companies and China’s AVIC showcasing their products.
