European streaming service SkyShowtime recently announced the cast and released the first look images for its upcoming Swedish original series “Where the Sun Always Shines.” The six-part dark comedy-drama, created by Felix Herngren, is set to premiere exclusively on SkyShowtime on Nov. 10. The series was shot on location in Mallorca and features a star-studded cast including Claes Månsson, Suzanne Reuter, August Wittgenstein, Erik “Jerka” Johansson, Rakel Wärmländer, Per Lasson, and Lisa Linnertorp, among others.
“Where the Sun Always Shines” follows the story of Tom and Petra, a successful couple who sold their large Ica Maxi store in Linköping to live a life of luxury in Mallorca. However, their plans for an eternal vacation are disrupted during Tom’s 50th birthday party, leading to chaos when his brother Timmy and his wife Maja decide to move their family to the sunny Spanish island.
The production company behind the series is FLX, with Herngren serving as the creator and director. Sussan Treschow is the producer, with SkyShowtime and SVT as co-producers. Maria Nygren is the head scriptwriter, joined by screenwriter Josefin Johansson, and Jessica Ericstam is the executive producer for FLX.
The series promises to deliver a mix of comedy and drama set against the picturesque backdrop of Mallorca. With a talented cast and a compelling storyline, “Where the Sun Always Shines” is sure to captivate audiences when it premieres on SkyShowtime this November.
