Smokey Robinson is seeking to escalate the legal battle with a woman accusing him of sexual abuse. He has requested the court to compel her deposition and impose sanctions on her attorneys.
The renowned singer-songwriter filed a motion on Thursday, alleging that Jane Doe 2’s legal team has been delaying the deposition process, causing unfair prejudice to Smokey Robinson.
Robinson argues that the prolonged delay in resolving the allegations is impacting his earnings from touring, emphasizing the urgency of concluding the legal proceedings.
In his filing, Smokey Robinson requests the court to enforce the woman’s deposition within the next 14 days and seeks sanctions against her legal representatives for compelling him to resort to legal action.

The requested sanction against the attorneys amounts to $4,762.50, representing the legal expenses incurred by Smokey and his wife Frances in the ongoing legal dispute.
It is important to note that Smokey Robinson vehemently denies the allegations of sexual battery made against him by multiple women in early May.
Previously, authorities investigated an alleged sexual assault involving Smokey Robinson in 2015.
Efforts to reach out to the plaintiff’s legal representatives for comments have been unsuccessful thus far.
