As snow falls in the mountains on Monday morning, the National Weather Service predicts more on the way. While the light snow won’t lead to significant accumulation, gusty winds in higher elevations may cause blowing snow and white-out conditions on mountain passes.
Forecasters expect mountain ranges and passes above 10,000 feet to receive between 2 and 6 inches of snow between Monday and Tuesday. In Denver, light snow is possible on Tuesday morning, but little to no accumulation is expected in the metro area.
The cold front accompanying the snow will bring frigid temperature highs in the mid-30s to Denver on Tuesday. However, multiple days of warm, sunny weather are expected later in the week before a second snowstorm moves into Colorado over the weekend.
Forecasts for the upcoming snowstorm remain uncertain, including the amount of snowfall ahead of Thanksgiving travel and whether it will stick to the mountains or spread across the Front Range and Eastern Plains.
