EndemolShine India is all set to revive the popular reality show “Bigg Boss Bangla” for the Indian platform JioStar’s Star Jalsha. This marks the return of the reality format to Bengali-language television after a decade, with cricket legend Sourav Ganguly taking on the role of host.
The revival of “Bigg Boss Bangla” expands Banijay Entertainment’s footprint in India to seven languages, joining the existing Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, and Hindi versions. The Hindi version of the show recently concluded as the most-watched streaming non-fiction show in India during its finale week.

The South Asian Screen Office of Canada has launched the SASO National Research Project at Toronto Metropolitan University to tackle the systemic underrepresentation of South Asian creators in Canada’s screen industries. Project director Sunny Gill emphasized the importance of addressing structural invisibility rather than mere absence, highlighting the need to recognize the scale and specificity of the South Asian community in Canada.
The project aims to generate the first coordinated national evidence of South Asian participation on screen, behind the camera, and in leadership roles across Canada’s screen sector.
Malaysian Moment at SXSW: Made in Malaysia Showcase to Debut at Festival
Malaysia is set to make its debut at SXSW with the “Made in Malaysia” stage on March 15 at Las Perlas in Austin. This marks the first time a national Malaysian music showcase will be presented at the festival, curated and headlined by rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer Zamaera.
The showcase will feature a lineup of talented Malaysian artists including R&B vocalist Murty, indie singer-songwriter Zoe Tan, hyperpop and hip-hop artist Lil Asian Thiccie, and electronic producer I-SKY. The night will kick off with Texas-based DJ VÖ.A_2000.
Zamaera expressed the uniqueness of Malaysian music, stating, “Our music may sound global, but it’s unmistakably Malaysian. We’re not just performing songs – we’re sharing our identity, our creativity, and our voice with the world.”
