A shocking incident has recently come to light involving a special education teacher from Mississippi who has been charged with fondling an underage student. The accused teacher, Natalia Elizabeth Wright, 31, resigned from her position at Lewisburg High School in DeSoto County after being accused of having inappropriate contact with the boy.
However, just weeks after her resignation, Wright was allegedly seen engaging in intimate behavior with the student in public places. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox 13 Memphis, she was spotted kissing and making out with the underage student outside a Taco Bell and later outside a Baptist church on the same day.
Wright was eventually arrested after her husband filmed her admitting to kissing the student several times while tutoring him at his home. She has been charged with fondling by a person in a position of trust, which is a felony offense in Mississippi. The affidavit states that Wright unlawfully touched the child with her mouth, who is under 18 years of age.
Local residents expressed shock and disbelief that Wright was allegedly seen in public after resigning amidst the accusations. One resident, Shirley Hendrix, voiced her outrage, questioning why the teacher would jeopardize her job by engaging in such behavior.
Following her arrest, Wright was released on a $200,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 6 to face the charges against her. DeSoto County Schools, where Wright was employed, has not yet made a public statement regarding the case.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of students in educational settings. It serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining professional boundaries and ensuring the protection of students from any form of misconduct or abuse by teachers or staff members.
