A staff member at King’s College has resigned following an admission of inappropriate online behavior, as stated by the school’s board.
The staff member, who was involved in football and boarding activities, confessed to engaging in inappropriate online interactions under the false belief that he was communicating with a minor.
“The staff member has resigned immediately as of today,” the board’s statement read.
The school promptly informed the authorities and reached out to parents and guardians urging them to speak with their children if any concerns arose.
Boarding students were also informed, and the school ensured that pastoral care services were available for support.
King’s College clarified that the misconduct did not involve any of its students and that there was no student participation in the incident.
This was the first instance of such concerns being brought to their attention regarding the staff member’s conduct, according to the school.
“The school is deeply troubled by this situation, and our main focus is on providing support to our students during this challenging time.”
Authorities have been contacted for further comments on the matter.
