Starz has recently secured the exclusive U.S. rights to the South African action series “The Nowhere Man.” The show features Bonko Khoza, known for his role in “The Woman King,” as the lead character, Lukas, a former Special Forces mercenary struggling with PTSD. Naturi Naughton-Lewis, famous for her roles in “Power” and “Power Book II: Ghost,” plays Ruby, a woman who helps Lukas piece his life back together.
Originally available for streaming on Prime Video in South Africa, “The Nowhere Man” will now be launching weekly on Starz starting January 16, 2026. International distribution is being handled by Prime Video and Canal+.
The series follows Lukas, who has left his violent past behind and now works as a junk collector in Johannesburg. However, when he witnesses a home invasion and decides to intervene, he is drawn back into the dangerous world he thought he had escaped.
In addition to her acting role, Naturi Naughton-Lewis is also an executive producer on the show. She expressed her excitement about this new project and the opportunity to work with her Starz family again. Alison Hoffman, President of Starz Networks, also shared her enthusiasm for the show, praising Naturi’s talent and the thrilling action-packed storyline of “The Nowhere Man.”
Filmed on location in South Africa, the series was created by Motion Story and produced by Phillip Wolmarans and Nick Keulemans. Fred Wolmarans and Gareth Crocker directed the series, with Crocker also serving as the showrunner. Other executive producers include Chris Lawrance, Colleen Lawrance, Sean Mik’ael Butler, Naturi Naughton-Lewis, and Two Lewis.
