Telehealth companies capitalizing on the recent surge in weight loss medications are increasingly influential, not only in assisting individuals with obesity but also in reshaping the conventional medical perspective on the condition.
A key player in this sector, Ro, announced its launch of a new survey aimed at gauging “food noise,” a phrase often used by individuals struggling with obesity to denote persistent and overwhelming thoughts related to food. This scale, created with the support of academic researchers funded by Ro, aims to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments in reducing the level of food noise, particularly in the context of emerging GLP-1 medications such as Wegovy and Zepbound.
The telehealth company has already begun using this scale to monitor the progress of its patients undergoing treatment, while also offering it to pharmaceutical companies for use in clinical trials.
