State Police Release Kyren Lacy Crash Video Disputing Attorney’s Claim

Recently, the Louisiana State Police released video footage from the Kyren Lacy incident, alongside eyewitness testimonies that refute claims regarding the late LSU football player’s role in the devastating crash.

The department released a “Critical Incident Briefing Video” on Tuesday, shortly after Lacy’s attorney, Matthew Ory, presented footage that purportedly showed Kyren’s green Charger positioned 100 yards from the crash site during the December 2024 incident that resulted in the death of 78-year-old Herman Hall.

The newly released footage shows Lacy speeding in the wrong lane, overtaking three vehicles and an 18-wheeler in a zone limited to 40 MPH, moments before the incident.

LSP indicated that Lacy’s driving led a female driver to swerve into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with Hall, who sadly succumbed to his injuries. The video depicts Lacy “braking aggressively” just before re-entering the correct lane.

The surviving female victim, seen laid out injured, reported to police that she had to swerve to avoid a vehicle moving erratically, which caused a truck ahead of her to brake suddenly.

Despite police asserting that Lacy’s actions were the “main cause of the chain reaction leading to the fatal accident”, LSP still issued a citation to the woman.

Authorities also released body cam footage capturing several witnesses present at the scene, with one stating, “The green Charger was responsible for this.”

Lacy faced charges including negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless vehicle operation but tragically died by suicide on April 12, 2025, prior to confronting those charges.
