Stine Goya continues to push boundaries and explore new realms with her latest collection, aptly named The Guest House. In collaboration with File Under Pop, a surface-design company for interiors, Goya has created four custom paint colors to complement her new line. The showroom and celebratory dinner for this season were held in the office of Josephine Yaa Akuamoa, the creative mind behind File Under Pop.
The inspiration for this spring collection was a traveler arriving at an 18th-century country house by horse, drawing on elements of Jane Austen and Oscar Wilde. The garments themselves tell a more direct story, with ceramic buttons, crochet details, and a charming print of porcelain plates. The monogram detailing, reminiscent of a linen napkin, adds a touch of whimsy to the collection. Goya explains that all these details create a world-of-interiors theme that allows viewers to peek into a different realm, one that is familiar yet foreign.
Among the standout pieces is a dress featuring an extended vest top and a flowy skirt, exuding a sense of romance and femininity. A pair of washed jeans with a unique wide waistband showcases Goya’s signature touch, with belt loops shaped like an S and a G, representing the designer’s initials and the quality of the garment.
Stine Goya’s ability to blend elements of interior design with fashion continues to captivate audiences, offering a fresh perspective on how we interact with our surroundings. The Guest House collection invites us to step into a world of wonder and imagination, where every detail tells a story.
