Storm Reid recently confirmed that she will not be returning to the hit show “Euphoria” for its upcoming Season 3. Despite her departure, Reid expressed nothing but love and admiration for her co-star Zendaya, referring to her as a sister both on and off-screen.
During Time’s Women of the Year dinner held at the West Hollywood Edition hotel, Reid shared her sentiments about leaving the show, stating that it was a bittersweet moment for her. She cherished the opportunity to portray the character of Gia and was looking forward to seeing what Season 3 has in store for fans.
The announcement of Season 3 came as a surprise to many, as there was uncertainty surrounding the show’s future after the last season aired on HBO. However, network boss Casey Bloys confirmed in November that production would resume in January. A first look at the new season was released, featuring Zendaya reprising her role as Rue.
While Reid and Barbie Ferreira will not be returning for Season 3, the original cast members including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Eric Dane will be back. Unfortunately, the cast also faced the tragic loss of Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, at the young age of 25 in July 2023.
Despite her departure from “Euphoria,” Reid is keeping busy with other projects. She is currently working on developing a film titled “Get Lite” at Paramount, which will mark Teyana Taylor’s directorial debut. The movie will focus on dance techniques and will be set in Harlem, showcasing the diverse art of dance in New York City.
In addition to her film projects, Reid is also nearing her graduation from USC later this year. She expressed her eagerness to finish her studies and transition back into the working world, as she feels ready to take on new challenges and opportunities.
During the Time event, Reid had the honor of presenting a Women of the Year Award to Avery Colvert, the 14-year-old founder of Altadena Girls. Other honorees included Nicole Kidman and Olivia Munn, who was recognized for her advocacy work in raising awareness about breast cancer after undergoing multiple surgeries for the disease in April 2023.
