Story Kitchen, a production company specializing in adaptations of video games and non-traditional IP into television and film, has extended its first-look television deal with Amazon MGM Studios. This exclusive information was reported by Variety.
Previously known as dj2 Entertainment, Story Kitchen is currently working on the highly anticipated “Tomb Raider” live-action TV series for Amazon, created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The company was founded in 2022 by Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, Timothy I. Stevenson, Dan Jevons, and Elena Sandoval.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Amazon MGM Studios and to keep telling great stories based on best-in-class games,” said Story Kitchen’s founders.
In addition to “Tomb Raider,” Story Kitchen is collaborating with Amazon on various projects, including a film adaptation of the “ToeJam and Earl” games with Stephen Curry as co-producer, and an adaptation of the popular game “It Takes Two” with Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions.
The company is also involved in the production of “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft,” a Netflix animated series currently preparing for its second season. Other projects in the pipeline include a movie based on “Split Fiction,” a “Just Cause” movie at Universal Pictures, “Ruiner” at Universal Pictures, “Sifu” at Netflix, “Shinobi” at Universal Pictures, and “Streets of Rage” at Lionsgate.
