The individual sought in connection with a random stabbing of a subway passenger at a platform in Queens on Sunday has been apprehended, as confirmed by NYPD authorities.
Twenty-one-year-old Luis Pallchisaca, a resident of Queens, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon. He faces charges of attempted murder and assault related to the alleged unprovoked attack on 25-year-old Roberto Gaspar, police reports indicate.
Gaspar, who works in a restaurant and also hails from Queens, was reportedly preoccupied with his phone on the platform for the 7 train at 111th Street when he was unexpectedly assaulted from behind, according to police sources.

According to NYPD reports, Pallchisaca is accused of stabbing Gaspar in the neck with an “unknown sharp object” and then inflicting two more stab wounds to his back before fleeing the scene.
The victim is currently hospitalized in the ICU at New York Presbyterian/Queens Hospital, with friends stating that he is on a ventilator and unable to communicate.
Pallchisaca is reportedly unknown to Gaspar, who had just completed a demanding 10-hour shift at a Manhattan restaurant when the stabbing occurred, friends confirmed.

“I’m outraged. He didn’t deserve this,” expressed Gaspar’s friend, Tomas Calel, in a previous conversation with The Post. “I believe that the attacker is someone terrible. Why would he do such a thing? I want justice for my friend; I hope they find him soon.”
