Seth Meyers took aim at Donald Trump and his allies for disregarding the rules-based international order in favor of what he called a “much less refined philosophy” on Wednesday’s episode of “Late Night.”
The host highlighted Trump world’s defense of the U.S. military operation in Venezuela and their reaction to the White House’s interest in Greenland as examples of this shift.
Meyers shared a compilation of notable conservatives, such as Stephen Miller and Ben Shapiro, dismissing the concept of international law and promoting the idea that global politics operates under the “law of the jungle” with America as the “dominant predator force.”
Meyers didn’t hold back his criticism.
“I’m sorry, but these individuals are the most uncool nerds on the planet,” he remarked.
“They should save that tough talk for their ‘Call of Duty’ games,” he joked.
Later, Meyers questioned whether these “grown-ass men” felt any shame uttering phrases like, ‘We are the lion, we are the predator’ on national television.
