The demand is clearâan animated “Survivor” movie featuring animal contestants is in the works. Paramount Animation, in collaboration with CBS, is developing a comedic animated film inspired by the long-standing CBS series “Survivor.” Jeff Probst, the show’s host, will serve as executive producer.
The film’s official synopsis states: âSet on a remote and mystical island, animals from all around the globe compete for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be crowned the sole Survivor.â
Jeff Probst expressed his enthusiasm on Instagram, saying, âIâm so excited to be teaming up with Paramount Animation to bring you Survivor like youâve never seen it beforeâŠin the animal kingdom! This will be an all-out comedy with animals competing for the chance to be crowned the sole Survivor. Letâs go!!!!â
In a video, Probst further explained, âSetting it in the world of animals gives us a whole new playground. Itâs still everything we love about âSurvivorâ â big personalities, funny characters, surprising alliances, competition, chaos â and of course a lot of heart â but this time, the players arenât human.â
Jennifer Dodge, appointed president of Paramount Animation in November, is overseeing the department that also unveiled the Christmas film “The Naughty List” from Robert Rodriguez. Rodriguez has been nurturing this concept for over a decade, based on stories and drawings he developed with his children. Previously, Dodge led Spin Master, the producers of “PAW Patrol,” where she managed development, production, and global distribution.
Paramount Animationâs âPAW Patrol: The Dino Movieâ is set to release on August 14.
Hosted by five-time Emmy winner Probst, “Survivor,” produced by Banijay and Amazon MGM, is currently being filmed in Fiji for a fall airing on CBS. The series premiered in 2000 and has just wrapped up its 50th season, which featured the most-viewed finale since 2020. During the live finale, Aubry Bracco from New Hampshire was named the 50th season Sole Survivor, winning a $2 million prize.
