The Sussexes Navigate Financial Challenges as Royal Family Peace Talks Begin
Prince Harry, who currently holds two modest-paying roles with Travalyst and BetterUp, has recently shifted his focus back to charity work. Last month, he made a trip to Angola with The Halo Trust, following in the footsteps of his late mother Princess Diana by walking through a minefield. Despite his philanthropic efforts, it is unlikely that their mounting expenses will be covered solely through charitable endeavors.
The couple’s extravagant nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom home in Montecito comes with an annual mortgage estimated at a staggering $400,000, in addition to staffing costs amounting to $230,000. Security, which Harry insists on due to his past military service, reportedly costs around $4 million annually.
Following the termination of their deals with Spotify and Netflix, the Sussexes find themselves without a clear new revenue stream. Royal expert Norman Baker has suggested that their options are dwindling, stating, “They’ve already exhausted the major opportunities such as the podcast and book deals. At this point, there seems to be nothing left to sell except for themselves.”
As the couple navigates these financial challenges, peace talks with the royal family have begun in an attempt to find a resolution that works for all parties involved. It remains to be seen how the Sussexes will address their financial woes while maintaining their independence from the royal family.
