NBC has made the decision to pull an upcoming episode of “Law & Order: SVU” in light of recent allegations against guest star Timothy Busfield. Originally scheduled to air on January 15, the episode featuring Busfield as a judge will no longer be shown. Instead, NBC will air the previously planned episode on January 22. This move comes after reports surfaced of an arrest warrant issued for Busfield in New Mexico on charges of sexual abuse involving a minor.
The allegations against Busfield stem from his time as a director on the Fox drama series “The Cleaning Lady.” One of the twin boys who worked on the show claims that Busfield touched his “private areas” when he was seven and eight years old while on set. Warner Bros. Television, the production company behind “The Cleaning Lady,” conducted an internal investigation into Busfield’s behavior towards the boys in 2025 following an anonymous tip about a separate incident.
In response to the accusations, Warner Bros. Television issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to the safety of their cast and crew, especially minors on their productions. The studio stated that they take all allegations of misconduct seriously and have protocols in place to investigate and take appropriate action when necessary. They have been cooperating with law enforcement regarding the charges against Busfield.
The decision to pull the episode of “Law & Order: SVU” reflects NBC’s stance against condoning any behavior that puts individuals, especially minors, at risk. As the situation unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing the safety and well-being of all individuals involved in the entertainment industry.
