Tan France, known for his role in Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” is set to make his scripted television debut in Hulu’s upcoming comedy series “Deli Boys.” France will guest star as Zubair, a British Pakistani South London gang leader who is described as “smart, intimidating, and dressed to kill.”
The premise of “Deli Boys” revolves around two pampered Pakistani American brothers, Mir and Raj, who lose everything after their convenience store-magnate father passes away. They soon discover their father’s secret life of crime and are forced to step into his shoes in the underworld. The cast is led by Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh as the brothers, with additional cast members including Poorna Jagannathan, Alfie Fuller, and Brian George.
France’s role in the series marks his first foray into scripted television, adding to his impressive resume as a fashion expert on “Queer Eye” and co-host of Netflix’s “Next in Fashion.” He has also hosted shows like the U.K. version of “Say Yes to the Dress” and Netflix’s SAG Awards Pre-Show.
“Deli Boys” was created by Abdullah Saeed and developed by Jenni Konner and Nora Silver under Jenni Konner Productions. Michelle Nader serves as showrunner, with executive producers including Saeed, Konner, Silver, and Nisha Ganatra. The series is produced by Onyx Collective and 20th Television.
