“Making this decision was incredibly challenging for Taylor,” shared a source familiar with the 36-year-old Love Story artist. “She cares deeply for the girls, and it was painful for her, but given the situation, she felt she had to sever ties completely.”
This separation coincides with Swift’s recent media attention for not inviting Blake Lively, 38, and her husband Ryan Reynolds to her high-profile wedding to Travis Kelce, 36, in July.
Previously, Swift had affirmed her role as godmother to the couple’s daughters, James, Inez, and Betty, in an Instagram post promoting Reynolds’ film Deadpool & Wolverine scheduled for release in July 2024. (Lively and Reynolds welcomed their son Olin in 2023.) In reference to Reynolds’ character in Deadpool, Swift humorously captioned the post: “Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor!”
Reynolds, 49, supported Swift’s playful remark, affirming, “She is the godparent to my daughters,” and described her mention as “very sweet.”
