Taylor Swift offers fans a look behind the scenes of The Eras Tour: The Final Show.
“What truly impressed me was how Glenn [Weiss, the director] seamlessly captured the essence of the Eras Tour, a phenomenon driven by numerous factors,” Swift, 36, explained to 2026 Emmys voters on Wednesday, August 19, in Los Angeles, as reported by Deadline. “It was a significant escape for those present, and Glenn and I discussed how to preserve that experience.”
Swift embarked on the record-breaking Eras Tour in March 2023, concluding in December 2024. A year after the final three-hour concert, Disney+ released footage of the final show along with a behind-the-scenes docuseries.
The Eras Tour: The Final Show, directed by Weiss, earned five nominations at the 2026 Emmys, including Best Variety Special (Prerecorded), Best Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special, and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork.
In celebration of the accolades, Swift joined Weiss and sound designer John Ross at Los Angeles’ Ross House on Wednesday to discuss the project and their initial goal to capture the same excitement felt in stadiums in the documentary.
“If the fans’ sense of relaxation and freedom is lost, a crucial element of the concert experience disappears,” the pop star remarked, wearing a floral sundress. “Glenn ensured fans could lose themselves in the moment through the rehearsals he conducted with our dancers and me before the final show.”
She humorously added, “If you enjoyed the dancers’ choreography, you should have seen our Steadicam operator’s footwork.”
Swift, who previously won the Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media award at the 2015 Emmys, has been enjoying a quiet summer apart from her lavish wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce. Swift and Kelce, both 36, exchanged vows on July 3 at Madison Square Garden after three years together.
“It was an incredible offseason. Our wedding was the highlight of my life,” Kelce shared during a Kansas City Chiefs press conference earlier this month. “I’m grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate. It was a night full of joy and festivities.”
Weeks later, Kelce appeared with his gold wedding band at the team’s August 15 football game. On the same day, Swift showcased her ring while attending a friend’s wedding in England.
