Introducing Hilary Statum
Hilary infuses her two decades of teaching experience and enthusiasm for literacy into every resource she develops.
As a teacher and literacy consultant based in middle Tennessee, Hilary has dedicated 20 years to educating students from pre-kindergarten through to 5th grade. Her roles as a multilingual teacher and middle school literacy consultant have equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of how to support learners at various stages of their education.
Beyond her school-based work, Hilary is a published author of Solar System for Kids and Kindergarten Activity Book: Unicorns, and she runs Pencils to Pigtails, a blog catered to parents and teachers. Holding a Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership, she also coordinates and teaches free English classes for parents in her school district. Outside of her professional life, Hilary enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and her extensive family.
Her wide-ranging experience as an educator, author, and literacy advocate fuels the development of practical, classroom-centered resources for teachers and students.

What considerations guide you when developing resources?
My goal is to ensure students find the resources engaging and exciting. I constantly seek ways to incorporate hands-on activities, discussion prompts, and collaborative learning opportunities. I believe every educational standard can be delivered in an engaging manner!
